Happy Snaps: Guerlain Météorites Cruel Gardenia - What a Beauty!

I purchased this magnificent limited edition piece, called 'Météorites Cruel Gardenia Illuminating Iridescent Powder' from none other than Guerlain - one of the oldest beauty brands that started off as a French perfume house in 1828!  Can you believe it?  I knew it was old, but THAT is old.  I was excited to have purchased this on my birthday (you can see how I was spoiled here and here if you like. ;-) ) - the same day the Guerlain spring 2012 collection arrived on counters although yet to be officially launched on February 12th in AU.  I had seen so many photographs, reviews and swatches of this beauty in the last few weeks when it was released in the US - I knew it was a must-have for me.  However, I tried to put my finger on it to swatch it, but I'm afraid I'm not ready yet!  LOL. *blush*  I tried, I did!!  I think I got as close as gently touching the edge of one of the pretty petals, but that's about it.  Not enough to swatch and post a photo yet. /:-|  Silly, isn't it?  I will work on this.  For now, I am content to admire it as it is until I find the courage to ruin the design forever...

...When I do, I will be sure to put up a review on it with ... swatches! ;-)

Meanwhile, here are some happy snaps I took of this beautiful piece of artwork - I hope you enjoy. ^_^

If you can't wait for my swatches and review as I don't know when that will be, please check out other blogs that have swatched and reviewed it (there are quite a few out there).  Here's a few good ones:

Here are other good reviews as well:
  • The RAEviewer (shows swatches on a tanned skin tone with yellow undertones + comparison with Edward Bess & Laura Mercier's highlighters)
  • Temptalia (for usual thorough review)
  • The Gloss Goss (comparison with Laura Mercier's Rose Rendevous highlighter)
  • Best Things in Beauty (has a swatch on pale and cool skin tone)

Thanks for reading. xo
