Hello! I have another skincare review for you! You have probably already heard or read about this face cream by Kozmetika Afrodita, called Oil Control 24h moisturizing cream. I have wanted to post about this cream for a long time, but never seemed to have the time or remembered on time to prepare the text and photograph the product. Finally I am catching up on some long due reviews.
Packaging, price - This cream comes in a silvery yellow box and a plastic packaging with yellow cap. It contains 50 ml of the product.The price depends where you buy it and if there are any available discount, it can be from about 6 to 9 euros usually. I don't remember how much I paid for this one as I have it for a long time now. It's a sturdy packaging that didn't break even thou it faced the floors of my bathroom several times.
What it is? - it's an 24h moisturizing cream for combination to oily skin type. It's a non-comedogenic cream with three functions - it helps with deep hydration of your skin, it helps with minimizing your pores and it helps with cleansing. It's a natural care of oily to mixed skin, it also doesn't contain any paraben or paraffin. There are three main ingredients that make this cream special. First one being Lactil - helps with hydration, the second being cucumber extract which helps calm down your skin and refresh it, also helps with cleansing the skin and minimizing the pores. Third ingredient is essential oil of lemon and rosemary. Both essential oils are well known for stimulative action. They work on your skin with a mild antibacterial function, revive your skin enhance your skins ability to self-cleanse. Also it's pH is 5.5.
How to use? - Apply on clean skin every morning and evening.
My experience with the product - I have been using this cream mainly as a nigth cream as I found it quite nourishing and I couldn't really layer it under my primer and my foundation as I felt I beginning to melt during application. I mostly just used it as an evening skin care product and sometimes as a daily cream, when I knew I would be home all day and thus not wearing any makeup. The texture of this product is well creamy, as the name suggests, but still not too liquidy or too heavy. In fact it's quite a light cream, unless you apply a thick layer of it. It absorbs well and fast, leaving no greasy film on top, no tacky feeling, also no shine. In the morning I mostly woke up with a matte face and also a lot less greasy skin. I was testing this several months back, so I am not giving you fresh impressions, but this did not break me out additionally and also didn't cause me any other skin problems. However it did nourish my skin well and gave it enough hydration, even in colder winter months. As for helping minimize my pres I did not really see any differences and also haven't noticed any less acne and such. What I did always look forward to when using this cream was the fresh lemony citrusy scent. I have read some comments about this product that this cream is well, decent, but has a bit too much essential oils and might be irritating your skin. I have not noticed anything like that, so I guess I haven't been using the cream too often, especially as I have only been using it in the evenings. Personally I would recommend this cream only to those with oily skin as it might not be nourishing enough for those with a mixed skin type. Also not the best choice for those of you with a sensitive or dry skin type, as it would probably irritate you too much or wouldn't offer enough nourishment. If you would rather try a something lighter you can also get a serum with similar aspects as the cream. If you have tested the serum let me know if it's good and whether or not I should try it. I had hoped this cream would also help me with acne some more and as it didn't cause any further problems it also didn't help me get rid off the already existing ones. Anyway I have had some mixed feelings about this cream at first, but than I got used to it and for a time I really loved to use it. It has been in use on and off for several months, not much so lately as I was trying out other products. I have used it in summer and winter months and it seemed to me that my oily skin liked it better in colder months. But then you know, the life of a beuaty blogger... always something new to try ;) As I have noticed there is not much left in the little round pot I might try to repurchase, but will see.
