Empties: July 2016

I've finished quite a few skincare and makeup items this month, which is always exciting. I'm also downsizing some makeup. There's a lot of samples and smaller option products in here as well, as I did go to Barcelona this month and these are things I brought with me. There will be more of those next month as I still haven't finished all of them. It's amazing how long some samples last. I could probably go months without buying certain items if need be. Either way, here are my empties for July.

Biotherm Lait Corporel Anti-Drying Body Milk 400ml ( here )
Quite a staple in my empties post by now. One of my all-time favourite body lotions. I've used this since I was 14 and still absolutely love it. Will keep buying it as long as they keep making it.

Korres Santorini Vine Shower Gel 25ml & Body Milk 200ml ( here )
These smell amazing! Just incredible! I've never been to Santorini, so I can't attest to wether these really smell "like Santorini", but I imagine it could smell something like what these smell like, hehe. It's a fresh scent, but not with a bunch of citrus fruits and that type of fresh. More like a fresh clean scent. I can't describe it, but it smells incredible and I will definitely buy this duo again.

Fushi Organic Rosehip Oil 100ml ( review - here )
Another long-time favourite. I love using this as a body oil. It heals, calms down irritations and such things, always. Great product, will keep re-purchasing.

Sephora Soft Touch Cotton Pads 35 pads ( here )
These are quite nice, but nothing all that special. I love these little mini packs for travel though, so will definitely buy more of them for that purpose the next time I'm in a Sephora.

MUJI Peelable Cotton 60 pads ( here )
A staple by now. I used to be hooked on the Shiseido cottons, until I discovered these. These are much, much cheaper and just as nice. Definitely have a look at these if you are trying to get of the expensive Shiseido-cotton-train.

Roger & Gallet Créme Sublime Bois d'Orange SPF15 Hands & nails cream 30ml ( here )
I love this handcream, mostly due to it containing SPF 15. I wish the SPF was higher, but it's still the cheapest and most readily available hand cream with SPF option I have around here. I prefer the Supergoop hand cream because it has a higher SPF content, but that's more expensive and it's near impossible to get a hold of here.

Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream 125ml ( here )
Another favourite, there's a lot of those this time! This is an incredible intensely hydrating hand cream that I use before bed. I wash my hands a lot and have very dry hands, but this takes care of that, in winter as well. If you suffer from dry hands, definitely give this one a try.

Cane + Austin Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ 59.1ml ( discontinued? )
This was a very nice sunscreen. It was a super thin liquid that absorbed almost immediately and didn't interfere with makeup or make my skin oily or greasy during the day. I'd re-purchase, but from what I can tell it's probably been discontinued as it's nowhere online to be found?

Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths 10 quilted cleansing cloths ( here )
I love these. They are way too expensive usually, so I only buy them at the airport when I am travelling as wipes are so much easier then. This little 10-pack, however, I got as part of a little skincare set of Ole Henriksen's Vitamin C products. I wish he sold them in this smaller pack, for a much lower price, as I would definitely buy them more often.

La Prairie Purifying Cream Cleanser 200ml ( review - here )
My favourite morning cleanser. It's got a light creamy consistency that feels perfect in the morning for just getting rid of any surface "build-up" or oils or whatever from the night, without irritating the skin or being too much. It comes of easily with some splashes of water and keeps my skin in great condition. I'm onto my next tube, have lost count of how many I've been through now.

Maple Holistics Vitamin C Anti Aging Serum 30ml ( review - here )
I loved this serum. It did everything I want a vitamin C serum to do. This was sent to me for review, but isn't really available in Europe. If it was more easily available I would definitely re-purchase.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II 50ml ( review - here )
This is a nice overall, bit-of-everything serum. I've used several bottles of the original serum, and enjoyed this one as well. It's not one I'll be running out to re-purchase, but I might at some point if I just simply feel like it. I've always felt this was quite expensive for what it is, but just realised that it does contain 50ml, where other serums typically contain 30ml, so that makes the price pretty decent, I think, after all.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum 10ml ( review - here )
I love this serum. It's been a while since I finished my last bottle, of several I've used over the years, and I've yet to re-purchase. The only reason for that is I'm making a point to not have so much backstock of serums. Using them up has taken ages, but once I've pared down my "collection" of serums and oils a bit more, this is at the top of my list of things to buy. I really miss it, it's really, really good!

La Prairie Cellular Hydrating Serum 5ml ( here )
Another serum I love, and a hydrating one as well. This gives the perfect amount of hydration to the skin. No more or less than it needs. It keeps skin plump and radiant the whole day. I've had many samples of this and always loved it. Another one I really want to get the full-size of.

Guerlain Orchidée Imperiale Exceptional Complete Care The Toner 15ml ( here )
This was quite a pleasant surprise. I received this sample as part of a little Guerlain gift with purchase this month and decided to bring it with me to Barcelona. I wasn't expecting much, but this felt so nice on the skin. It's a thicker formula that I found really soothing and a bit hydrating, which was just what my skin needed after days of hot weather and strong sun. I'm actually quite interested in buying this now, which shows you the power of samples. This is not something I would've probably even looked at otherwise.

Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm 3ml ( here )
This is a really nice lip balm. I've been through quite a few of these samples in the past, and still have a few gathered up that I'm going to work through next. It's a thicker, oilier type of balm product, but feels very comfortable on the lips. It also looks very nice, more like a gloss, so you can easily wear this during the day on it's own, or even over a lipstick. If you get really dry lips, this is definitely one to look into, especially for the coming winter months.

Shu Uemura Silk Bloom Restorative Treatment for Damaged Hair 200ml ( here )
This was ok. It moisturised my hair a bit, sure, but not much, and whilst not moisturising my hair that much, it left it weighted down, lifeless and with no volume. Actually, I take that back, it wasn't ok, it was a bit crap and I'm happy to have finally finished it. I know other people absolutely love this line, and hair is so different for everyone with completely different needs, but it didn't work for me, at least not very well, so I just can't personally recommend it.

Rahua Shampoo 275ml ( here )
One of my favourite shampoos. It's natural, sulphate-free, a lot of other things-free and it works really well. I've used several bottles of this, and will definitely buy it again in the future.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me ( here )
While I didn't at all love the other Baby Lips I've had and used up, which was one of the pink ones, this one I loved. The other one I didn't like only because the colour wasn't flattering, the formula was really nice. In this one as well. It's hydrating, comfortable to wear and super easy to re-apply due to how sheer it is. Still it can be built up quite a bit. This one I enjoyed the formula, and the red colour. This is definitely a product I would like to buy again.

Armani Master Corrector in 1 ( here )
This has been my only corrector for quite some time and I absolutely loved it. Something's been irritating my eyes lately, and while trying to figure out what it might be I realised just how long I've had this for and decided to get rid of it, just to be on the safe side. I've used it up almost entirely, so I'm not bothered by throwing away the last little bit anyway. I loved this, but still feel like trying something new. The biggest flaw of this I have to say is the packaging, that kept leaking product out down the sides. So I am now on the lookout for a new undereye corrector - so if anyone has any suggestions, please do leave them below. I've been considering either the Urban Decay or Bobbi Brown liquid serum corrector, so if anyone has tried either (or both!) I'd love to know that your opinions on those are especially?

Guerlain Gloss d'Enfer Maxi Shine Lip Gloss in 470 7.5 ml ( here )
I've really enjoyed this gloss. It's a sheer formula that still packs quite a bit of colour. Perfect for layering on top of lipsticks. I've used a lot more than it looks like in the picture, but it wasn't quite finished either. I wanted to make this the next gloss to finish, but when I went to use it I realised the formula had changed. It just wasn't the same, I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to, and I have had it for quite a while. One more gloss out. I guess I am actually doing rather well with the whole downsizing my lip products project which is this years main focus, in terms of downsizing at least.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Sugarland ( here )
Finally I have an item I am simply downsizing. When I bought Sugarland years ago it was my absolute favourite makeup item. I used it all the time and was so scared I would finish it I had to make myself use it less. Fast forward a few years and it's just not as incredible as it was back then. Eyeshadow formulas are much better now, there are shinier more glittery eyeshadows everywhere, and I have quite a lot of them. It's been a bit of back and forth on deciding to get rid of this as I did use to love it so much, but I have decided to give it to a friend I know would love it, instead of focusing on using it up myself. I did use to love it, but honestly I do have better eyeshadows now that I'd rather be using.
